Courses Taught

During Fall semester, I teach the Trading and Markets elective that uses the trading simulation software developed at the Rotman School at Toronto University.

In the Spring semester, I teach Data Analysis in Finance using Python. Beyond the coding, I introduce students to “glue” concepts, such as git, the terminal, and VS Code. I encourage students to use AI tools, while also using in-class, closed-note assignments as checks on comprehension. We use real financial data sets throughout.

I also teach a two-semester student managed portfolio course all year, where students run a real dollar portfolio. In the first semester, we focus on valuation and idea generation. In the second semester, we focus more on portfolio management and risk measurement. We use all of our available tools, such as Bloomberg and Factset, to manage the fund. The students will give their first presentation on the fund to the Elon community in the Spring of 2025.

As part of our finance core, I regularly teach our advanced corporate finance course. This case-driven course covers topics such as project selection, equity valuation, and capital structure.

I have also taught investments, advanced investments, portfolio management, a CFA review, principles of finance, and financial modeling. I have experience teaching both R and Python.

I have taught versions of the above courses at both the undergraduate and MBA levels.
